Anders Tjällström Symposium

The Anders Tjellström Symposium was held on the 19th of April 2013 in the Wallenberg Center at the University of Gothenburg. It was held in collaboration between the Academic Department and the Department of ENT Head & Neck Surgery at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in honor of Anders Tjellström, the ENT surgeon behind the bone anchored hearing aid (BAHA) that has helped more than 100 000 hearing impaired patients all over the world.

Invited speakers were also Professor Bo Håkansson, Chalmers University of Technology (fig left) and Kerstin Bergström (fig right) who have collaborated with Anders Tjellström in the development of the BAHA and facial prosthesis based on Osseo integrated technique. The meeting gathered some of the most well-known researchers and clinicians in the field from the United States, Europe and South America.

Moderators for the one day symposium were Joacim Stalfors and Måns Eeg-Olofsson (fig. left) and the guests were welcomed by the Dean of the University of Gothenburg Professor Olle Larkö, head of Department of ENT H&N surgery Kaarina Sundelin (and head of the Academic Department, Johan Hellgren. The organizers would like to thank all the invited speakers, all participants and the sponsors for making this a great meeting.
