Undergraduate studies at the Sahlgrenska Academy

A study programme is a complete educational programme leading to the awarding of a degree. Some programmes, such as those in medicine and pharmacy, are profession-oriented, while others are more general. Programmes vary in length and contain a stipulated number of courses. Each degree programme and the length of the various courses is standardised in terms of a points system. A term is normally twenty weeks long, and is worth 30 higher education credits.

Admission to all undergraduate programmes at University of Gothenburg is restricted. The number of students to be admitted to the various programs is established annually by the university and the relevant faculties. Admission is competitive since, normally, there are more applicants than available places. Applicants are selected on the basis of grades obtained in upper secondary school and/or scores obtained in the Swedish University Aptitude Test.

All undergraduate programmes are conducted in Swedish.
